Ex-AK Gov. Sarah Palin (R) spent more money to de-ice her private jets than she did donating money to candidates during the first 3 months of the year, according to new filings made with the FEC.
The filings show Palin's political wing, Sarah PAC, paid a FL-based airplane service company $14K to de-ice a private jet. The PAC spent more than $16K -- twice as much as it donated to individual candidates -- on hotels from New Orleans to New York City to Richland, WA...
The $9,500 in checks represent just 2.3% of the money Palin brought in during the first quarter. Palin's PAC spent a total of $409,760 in the first quarter.
In response the blog Conservatives4Palin writes,
Today, the stories are about SarahPAC's fundraising and donations. They imply that the PAC hasn't raised enough money and donated enough money to others.Ummm, no. The story implies nothing. It flat out states that Sarah Palin spends 97.7% of her PAC money on things other than candidates. It's a slush fund for Palin and her cadre of hangers-on.
Still, C4P presses on in a valiant attempt to polish this turd,
Palin's real "donations" come from her endorsing, fundraising and campaigning for candidates.
That's all well and good but it doesn't explain or excuse the obvious misuse of her PAC funds. From the SarahPAC FAQ,
SarahPac will support local and national candidates who share Gov. Palin's ideas and goals for our country.
She's pledged to support candidates through her PAC and she's plainly failed to do so.

excellent news! Let her continue wasting her cash on highlights and pedicures - no skin off of my nose. Maybe she'll even be charged for unethical use of PAC money. This is a winning situation, my brotha!
