Perspective on Polis' spending

Jared Polis spent $5.3 million of his own money to win 15,952 votes in the CD-2 primary. That comes out to $332 per vote.

To put that in perspective a statewide campaign in Colorado needs about 1,250,000 votes to win. At his $332 per vote rate Polis would have to spend $415 million dollars on a state wide race.

To contrast in 2006 the Ritter campaign spent about $10 million.
