What do the new relevations regarding Gov's campaign manger mean?
It's really hard to know if there is anything all that new or damaging in the most recent revelations of financial malfeasance on the part of Ritter campaign manager Greg Kolomitz. It looks like more of what we already knew - loose controls and oversight of campaign funds led to abuse by Kolomitz. The only revelation that is new is that the governor's current spokesman, Evan Dreyer, wrote two of the checks for Kolomitz when Dreyer was serving as Campaign Spokesman and Deputy Campaign Manager. Dreyer was authorized to write and sign checks on behalf of the campaign and it's entirely reasonable to believe that he was acting in good faith when he wrote those checks. Still, this is the first indication that anyone other than Kolomitz himself was involved in anyway in this scandal and as such there are new questions raised and new issues for the independent investigation to explore.
