Salazar endorsement of Obama imminent?

Apparently so. Marc Ambinder reports,

A handful of undommitted Democratic senators are meeting right now at the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee in Washington, D.C.

They are Sens. Tom Harkin, Ken Salazar, Tom Carper and Ben Cardin.

Sens. Salazar and Harkin are spearheading an effort to persuade all 17 undeclared Senator superdelegates to endorse Sen. Barack Obama at the same time, possibly as early as tomorrow night, probably by late Wednesday.

This would be a tremendous display of leadership on Salazar's part. I have some serious issues with the Senator (habeas corpus) but if he is truly leading this effort then he is to be commended. By tomorrow evening every state will have either voted in a primary or held a caucus. Given the delegate count it is clear that Barack Obama will continue to hold an insurmountable lead over Hillary Clinton. The sooner that Party leaders display actual leadership and voice their preference the better for the Democratic Party and the better for the American public.
