Parole is pretty intrusive apparently

Suburban Denver's own contribution to the outbreak of cases of youngblondeteachersleepingwithunderageboys is Carrie McCandless.

Ms. McCandless was convicted last year, served 45 days in jail, must register as a sex offender and was out on bail. That is until she violated her parole. As the Post explains,
On March 6, she got in bed with a man without seeking approval.

Apparently having consensual sexual relations with an adult is a violation of her parole. I find that astonishing.

I don't know if her lawyer just got her a bad deal or if this is a standard condition of parole for non-violent first-time sex offenders but it seems remarkable to me that she could be jailed for such an action.

I don't have any sympathy for McCandless and if she had been a man she would have spent a lot more than 45 days in jail but should the State of Colorado be able to jail her for this? I don't think so.
