If only such an opportunity had presented itself...

George W. Bush speaking to the troops in Afghanistan via video-conference yesterday,

"I must say, I'm a little envious," Bush said. "If I were slightly younger and not employed here, I think it would be a fantastic experience to be on the front lines of helping this young democracy succeed."

"It must be exciting for you ... in some ways romantic, in some ways, you know, confronting danger. You're really making history, and thanks," Bush said.

Yes indeed. Poor George W., if only there had been an opportunity like this when he was younger. Say something in a small country in southeast Asia battling against the scourge of Communism. That would have been just the ticket.

To be fair Bush was so drunk and high on coke he probably doesn't actually remember Vietnam.
