This jaw-droppingly oblivious exchange about an 84 year old woman who is still waiting tables in order to pay her bills reminds me of this from Bush,
The economic elite in this country are living on a different planet. They literally don't have a clue that they sound absolutely ridiculous and callous when they make observations like working three jobs makes you "uniquely American" or that waiting tables at 84 is a good position to be in. They seem to have no shame because they literally have no understanding what life on the edge of the middle class or working poor is really like.
