On those AIG bonuses

So AIG hands out a couple of hundred million in bonuses to the guys who drove the company and the economy right off of a cliff. Geithner and Summers essentially just shrug and say they are very mad but hey, we're a nation of laws and they had contracts. The plutocrats in Washington furrow their brows but do nothing about this theft from the taxpayers.

Compare that to the reaction from the plutocrats and pols when GM asked for 1/10th of the money that AIG has recieved. In GMs case the workers contracts were the very first target of many in Washington. "No money unless and until those contracts are re-worked!" "GM needs to demonstrate its seriousness by reneogotiating all of their UAW contracts."

Where's Richard Shelby today? Why are contracts for the very people who destroyed the American economy treated with the upmost sanctity while innocent bystanders who dutifully showed up to work everyday are having their pay, benefits and pensions attacked?

Now for Geithner and his puppeteer Summers. The Obama administration has a mortgage plan based entirely on renegotiating billions in bad mortgages. Why can they not require renegotiation of AIGs contracts? Their excuse simply does not hold water.

This is little more than a heist. AIG and their executives are literally robbing the American taxpayer and little Tommy Geithner can just shrug his shoulders in response. Sickening.

That's because GM is doomed to failure. They haven't produced a good car in years. At least AIG is propping up most of the rest of the economy.
