Could someone please get Tom Friedman a copy of "Slaughter House V"?
For as good as Friedman is discussing climate change he is ten times as dreadful when he discusses foreign policy. Specifically foreign policy involving Arabs. I don't understand what his problem is but the historical analogies are, as Yglesias points out, very obvious. The Iraq War and Friedman's role in unleashing that hell upon tens of millions of innocent Iraqi's wasn't, I guess, a "teachable moment."
Larison has much more.
