Polis blatantly lies in new campaign ad

Jared Polis has a new campaign ad out attacking Joan Fitz-Gerald over a commercial run by an independent organization. Here's what the ad says,

Announcer: You've seen Joan Fitz-Gerald's negative campaign against Democrat Jared Polis. The truth? Jared Polis was chair of the State Board of Ed and opposes vouchers. Now Fitz-Gerald's political cronies are attacking Jared because he started a charter school for homeless children, a school praised by charities. It's a shame. After almost 20 years as a politician, Joan Fitz-Gerald has become politics as usual. We deserve better.

Jared Polis has embraced vouchers for his entire public career. Until this year when he decided it was best not to talk about such things in a Democratic Primary. Here is a Daily Camera article that is currently posted on Jared's own website that directly contradicts his current ad,

In his political career on the state Board of Education, Polis has been known as a supporter of charter schools and vouchers, aligning him at times with conservatives on the board and in the Legislature.

"I think Jared has tried to find alternative educational systems to try to help kids get educated and have a good K-12 experience," said state Rep. Keith King, R-Colorado Springs. "It's been good to work across the aisle with someone like that."

There you have it. That's the truth. Why Jared Polis thinks he can just lie to voters is beyond me but it speaks volumes about his temperament and his fitness for office.
