Gonzo movie review

On Saturday we decided to head to the Esquire to escape the heat and check out the new documentary, "Gonzo: The Life and Work of Dr. Hunter S. Thompson"

I cannot recommend it highly enough. The filmmakers did an excellent job of bringing together tonds of dispirate material from Thompson's home movies, past feature films, archival news footage and new interviews to form a cohesive story. The film focuses primarily on the early years of Thompson's career through the peak years in the early 70's. It's funny and insightful and the filmmakers do a fantastic job of making Hunter's battles with Nixon relevant to our present political situation.

I'll be seeing it again and would recommend that anyone with a passing interest in Gonzo do the same.
