I'm back...
Well that was a refreshing long weekend.
The Wilco show in Colorado Springs (pictured above, thanks to Flickr user Icky Pic) was, as expected, phenomenal. The personal highlight for me was the band performing Woody Guthrie's "Blood of the Lamb" right in the heart of Dobson country. Lest you think this was just coincidence it's been the only version of this rarely performed song on this entire western tour. Wilco front man Jeff Tweedy was making a subtle political statement, as he is often apt to do. Beyond that the band was clearly having a lot of fun. Their playing was tight and I can't think of a flubbed change, transition or lyric the entire night. The setlist was diverse and touched on at least 7 different albums from the Wilco catalog.
Now it's back to work and back to your regularly scheduled blogging...
