Polis ups the ante

$240,000 more out of his own pocket for his campaign.

Dueling talking points followed,

"Jared is not taking money from specials interests, like oil and gas, like some of his opponents," said Dayna Hanson, a spokeswoman for Polis...

Fitz-Gerald campaign manager Mary Alice Mandarich challenged Polis' stance on special-interest money.

"The biggest special interest in this race is Jared Polis," she said "He's given more money than another interest has in this race. Some people will never see that kind of money in their entire lifetime."

I think Mandarich's point is well taken but I'm not sure being perceived as a rich young kid is actually a negative in a primary race to represent a district whose biggest population base is Boulder. Maybe it is but to me Boulder is a fundamentally different place than Denver (CD-1) or Jefferson County (CD-7).
