Mild-mannered state Senator curses governor

I was pretty surprised to see this at the end of an article on legislative attempts to create a rainy-day fund for state government.

Sen. Steve Johnson, a Republican member of the Joint Budget Committee, vented his frustration to a colleague on the Senate floor.

"This damn governor, he provides no leadership on anything and he kills attempts by anyone trying to do anything else (with the budget)," said Johnson, R- Fort Collins.

Steve Johnson is an intelligent, moderate, soft-spoken man. That he would say something like this seems to be evidence that the frustration with the governor that John Andrews alluded to last week is very real.
