Protesting in the modern age...

Is it any wonder protests don't have any effect on public discourse? The Democratic Party is calling for a fax-in on the Iraq war. Not a sit-in with actual people, but a fax-in. So if you're outraged by the war, by the death of untold hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqis, the needless deaths of nearly 4,000 American troops and the serious wounding of 30,000 more, the raiding of our treasury for the financial gain of defense contractors - then on Wednesday put a piece of paper in your fax machine, enter a phone number and hit send.

*sigh*

This is absolutely pathetic. I don't know if it's a bigger indictment of the dopes who organized it or the apathetic public who can't be bothered to participate in anything beyond a fax-in.

And don't get me started on those email harvesting online "petitions."
