Surprising given Murtha's position on the war but if you know anything else about Murtha you can see why he'd be backing the establishment candidate and not the upstart who's raising tens of millions from the vast unwashed masses.
I don't have any specific insight into how much weight Murtha carries inside Pennsylvania but in general I don't think endorsements matter all that much - see this years Massachusetts primary as evidence of that.
