Just yesterday, we heard Senator McCain confuse Sunni and Shiite, Iran and Al Qaeda. Maybe that is why he voted to go to war with a country that had no al Qaeda ties. Maybe that is why he completely fails to understand that the war in Iraq has done more to embolden America's enemies than any strategic choice that we have made in decades.
This is no small thing. McCain has said 4 times in 2 days (once in a written statement from his campaign) that Iran is helping Al-Qaeda in Iraq. That he can't be bothered with basic details on issues of major consequence, the issue that is the entire premise for his campaign, is frightening. He is either a. Ignorant or b. Lying to confuse the situation - neither is acceptable.
Bring on the general election, this isn't 2004 and the American public has woken up. McCain can't lie, obfuscate and fear-monger his way to the White House. Also, it appears this time the Dems will have a nominee with the testicular fortitude to call bullshit when needed.
