Judgment

A letter that Obama drafted to Fed Chair Bernanke and Treasury Secretary Paulson on March 22, 2007 warning of the impending mortgage crisis and urging action on specific points of policy. I have my issues with Andrew Sullivan but he's correct when he says,
On this and on Iraq nd on Pakistan, his actual judgment simply put him on a level far beyond Clinton and McCain, let alone the current president.

Isn't that ultimately what we're looking for in a President? Someone who has displayed good judgment and good instincts on the most pressing issues of the day? It's a strong argument. He's been right on the major foreign policy question of his generation and he foresaw the impending domestic economic crisis. For all of McCain and Clinton's experience their instincts have failed them on these issues.
